#29 "You can't handle the stream" Best Streaming Service

Happy New Year Debaters and welcome back to another year or film debate shenanigans. Ever hear of Netflix? Crave perhaps? How about Hulu , Disney + and Amazon Prime? All kidding aside, 2019 was the year streaming services really doubled down to become a dominant form as to how we consume our media so we decided to kick off 2020 with a debate that we feel is worthy of a good binge. Premise: It's 2025 and all the streaming services have either conceded to Disney and closed up shop OR they were purchased by the happiest place on earth. You have the funds, time and resources to make your own streaming service to compete with them. What are your features, price, layout, content and lastly one new piece of content to launch your service? This is an all around debate so when voting we considered creativity, price, look, content and originality. In the living room this week are your usual suspects with Micheal Petrow, Chris Stanton, Jimmy Skinner and Mark Cowell. Trailer of the week: Tenet (2…

In the living room this week as always to help close the show off before the year is out is Jimmy Skinner, Micheal Petrow, Chris Stanton and Mark Cowell. We decided that instead of a debate to end 2019 we'd go over some of our highlights from the year like most loved debate, debater of the year (even though wins don't count for anything) our favourites and flops of 2019 for our choices in movies, Micheal's Review of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge and a few other surprises for you guys. Thank you to everyone who helped us along in getting the show off the ground. Thank you to the listeners because with out you, this is just a late night conversation in a bar and for showing us there is a place online for conversations like ours. #27 "Yes the Rum Tum Tugger is a Curious Cat" Best Trailer

The Trailer to a movie is a delicate 2.5 minutes of mystery, intrigue and hope. If done properly they’re reviewed by podcasters like us and carefully scrutinized for Easter eggs and brief moments of the enjoyment to come. If done wrong, you loose some of your potential audience ( Sonic the Hedgehog for example) and end up conveying the wrong message all together. This week instead of just reviewing one, we use the trailer as part of our feature presentation. The premise: We all agree on watching a trailer that none of us have seen. The kicker is that the trailer needs to be viewed in silence and with nothing but our creative juices and wit we have to come up with the plot without any lines, lyrics or laugh tracks Trailer of choice for the debate….Andrew Lloyd Webbers Broadway success turned feature length musical CATS (meow, purrrrr, sing, dance, wash rinse repeat?) #25 "Goonies Never Say Die" Best Motivational Speech Debate

Fact: motivational speeches make The Reel Debaters cry This week on the show we picked the "motivational speech" scene and put it through our idea machine and came to this conclusion: The Premise: Pick any motivational speech from any movie and replace the audience from that movie with a completely different scenario/audience from our personal lives. #22 Horror Special

Happy Halloween Debaters! Today on the the show Micheal Petrow, Martin Navarro and with the help of our resident horror expert Jimmy Skinner take a deep dive into what they love about the Horror Genre. With the amount of ideas coming out of the dark side of cinema it was hard to focus on just one thing so welcome to a fire side conversation about some of favourites when it comes to the best series or stand alone movies are out there, what we think of when we talk about vampires and zombies, what horror movie we think we could survive and much more. So go steal some of your kids candy (or eat what you bought) and enjoy the show. ***Without the help of Jimmy this episode would not be possible as the majority of us know nothing near what Jimmy knows about scary movies so a huge shout out to Mr Skinner everyone*** Email [thereeldebaters@gmail.com](mailto:thereeldebaters@gmail.com) Instagram @reeldebaters Twitter @reeldebaters

There is law that states if a person is murdered inside their home the real estate agent has to disclose it to the new potential buyers. When we heard this we thought one thing only ... MAKE A DEBATE ABOUT IT! This week on The Reel Debaters we turn on the sales pitch and see who can close the deal. The debate: You're a real estate agent tasked with selling a piece of property that was featured in a horror movie and convince the 3 other debaters to purchase it, and judge whose pitch is the best. In the living room this week to argue this halloween themed debate are Martin Navvaro, Christopher Stanton, Micheal Petrow and special guest Bueno from Winnipeg Finest Podcast. #19 Live From The Park Theatre: The Manitoba Podcast Festival

Welcome to our first Reel Talk Episode. Whats Reel Talk? Simply put, it's the conversation we get into while producing the show that dosen't have a home to live for eternity on the internets. You'll be getting interviews, trivia, some good ol' Top 10's and a few other segments that will show up now and again. Our first episode was recorded live at The Park Theatre in Winnipeg on September 29th at the Manitoba Podcast Festival. We got to sit down with a ton of local podcasters and talk shop but specifically we got to argue with Nick Bueno from Winnipeg Finest Podcast and Denzel Leblanc from Wesley Studios and argue super powers, cult films and the price of action figures. Special thanks to the staff at The Park Theatre and to the podcasts Thick and Sweaty, Kojb Films and Witch Police Radio for putting it on Email [thereeldebaters@gmail.com](mailto:thereeldebaters@gmail.com) Instagram @reeldebaters Twitter @reeldebaters

#18 "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in" Best Day Care

Ever think to yourself "hey self, what bad guy/girl from a movie would run a great daycare"? We're guessing not much but thats why you listen to us, so you don't have to. This week on The Reel Debaters we're celebrating evil doer's in a whole new light. The debate: The last daycare in town is run by a movie villain/antagonist. If you had to leave your kids with one for the day, who would it be and why would they make a for a great daycare teacher. The rules: They had to be an a%$hole, have an ulterior motive that's beneficial to them only and commit an act that they clearly weren't sorry. General bad guy stuff. In the living room is Mark Cowell, Martin Navarro, Jimmy Skinner and Micheal Petrow. #17 "Who is your daddy and what does he do?" Best Sex Ed Teacher Debate

Sex ed, family health, health class, it’s been called a dozen things over the years but no matter what you call it it’s still awkward talking about pregnancy and what not in front of your peers. The Reel Debaters this week decided to find out what would happen if movie character taught it instead your gym teacher. Debate: If you could pick any character played by Arnold Schwarzenegger to teach you about the birds and the bee’s, who would it be and why ? Rules: No Terminator, we are already on the verge of the sex bots taking over the human race so a real person had to teach this class. In the living room with Micheal Petrow is Martin Navarro and Mark Cowell. Chris Stanton had a pet emergency so please send your love to his kitty kat. #16 'Code name; Knife Head" Best Monster Debate

Raise your hand if you have heard of the classic video game [Rampage](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rampage_\(video_game\))… (giant animals terrorizing a city while they beat each other to a pulp) Keep your hand up if you liked the video game “inspired” movie Rampage with Dwayne “ The rock” Johnson…. ...Where did all the hands go? Whatever side of the Rampage coin you land on ,this debate should add some fuel to the fire as to how we think it should have been done Premise: Instead of limiting the movie to just the monsters from the video game, you have been given the chance to remake it using ALL of Hollywood’s monsters and ghouls to make your own Rampage. You are charged with arguing why your pick would be run the other 3 monsters into the ground and win the fight and reign as Kaiju Supreem. Rules: 1.Monsters or Ghouls Picked are the same size as they are in the movies , Martin learned this the hard way. 2.All powers from the movie you pick from are fair game to use in the ruckus Mov…
