June Laporte Profile Photo

June Laporte is an Australian-born, non-binary actor, writer, and director with Canadian and
American roots. Born in Melbourne to a Canadian father and American mother, June was raised
in Houston, Texas, where their love of storytelling began by reenacting scenes from favorite
books in the backyard—casting friends as Diana to their Anne Shirley or Wendy to their Peter Pan.
By the age of eight, they had found their way to the stage, performing in productions including
To Kill a Mockingbird and The Crucible at Houston's Alley Theatre.

Theatre became far more than a creative outlet during June's childhood. As their father battled
cancer before his passing when June was 12, performing became both a refuge and a source of
resilience. Their father remained one of their greatest supporters, encouraging them to always be
unapologetically themselves. It was also through theatre, and playing characters like Peter Pan
and Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream, that June began discovering and embracing their own
gender identity and sexuality.

After graduating from high school, where they spent summers performing in productions
including Spring Awakening and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, June landed their first feature
film, Clinger, which premiered at the 2015 Slamdance Film Festival. They later moved to New
York City to study at New York University's Playwrights Horizons Theater School before
continuing their training at the Atlantic Acting Conservatory.
